CREW BATTLE

Crews of up to four individuals of any role get together to compete in the battle.

The preliminary rounds are “cypher style”, meaning  crews take turns entering the circle showcasing their skills. There is no order to when the crews enter the cypher, they have to take the opportunity when the circle is empty. Crews can enter the cypher as many times as they want within the set time limit of the whole prelims. Once a crew enters the cypher, they have one minute to showcase their style however they’d like, whether it be double leading, double following, routines, stealing, etc.

Judges will pick their Top 4 crews from the prelims to move onto the Semi-Finals.

Semi-Final battles will be crew vs crew with each round being timed and four rounds in total.

Finals will be carried out in a “Last Crew Standing " format. The final two crews will battle in timed rounds. After each round, the judge will pick the winning side. The losing side will have to remove one dancer from their team. This will continue for the remainder of the battle.

The first crew to have only one person remaining loses as they cannot Hustle anymore, therefore crowning the other side the winners of the competition.

JACK & JILL

During the preliminary rounds, Leads & Follows will be paired up and called to the dance floor. Each round will feature four pairs, with each round lasting one minute. After the round ends, the four pairs will rotate partners and engage in another round. This rotation will occur three times before the next set of four pairs take the floor. From these groups, judges will select their Top 8 Leads and Follows to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Top 8 is done in a street dance format of 2v2 battle. However, Leads & Follows will switch after every round and be judged independently of each other.

The Top 4 is the final round of the Jack & Jill.  Dancers will get randomly paired up every round and go up one pair at a time in a showcase style format. There will be three rounds for each pair, with each of the three rounds being a different challenge.

Leads & Follows will be judged independently and the judges will pick the winners after everyone has done their three rounds.
